The Balcerovich Coleman strategic partnership group provides clients with expertise and superior representation in every facet of state government. Our client victories, records of achievement, and quality of government affairs services are unmatched under Colorado’s gold dome.
Decision-making within each state government branch, level, department, and division is often a complex minefield of competing personalities, politics, and policy interests. We’ve diligently mastered the functional nuances of working with and through Colorado’s legislative, executive, and judicial branches in service to clients. The trusting relationships we’ve developed with elected officials and staff at every level of state government allow us to skillfully navigate the minefields to secure and deliver substantive client victories – all while observing the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct.
Though we customize our services to meet client expectations, the following is a small sample of the kind of services we typically offer:
- Represent clients before the Colorado General Assembly, legislative committees, legislative council staff, legal services staff, the executive and judicial branches, and their respective staffs.
- Partner with clients to factually bulletproof and substantiate their respective cases/positions and subsequently develop/refine essential messaging for decision-makers and other target audiences.
- Secure outstanding legislative bill sponsors and, in that context, strive for bipartisanship whenever possible.
- Recruit and prepare subject-matter experts to offer compelling testimony in legislative committee hearings and elsewhere to elevate, promote, and defend client interests.
- Produce and disseminate persuasive, reader-friendly, fact-based, and data-driven fact sheets in legislative committees, on the floors of both legislative chambers, and elsewhere as necessary.
- Build effective stakeholder coalitions.
- Partner with relevant professional associations to elevate, protect, and defend client interests.
- Read each introduced legislative bill to ascertain its potential impact on clients.
- Meet with clients bi-weekly throughout the legislative session to review the status of each relevant bill and its committee schedule; prioritize bills; formally adopt support, oppose, or amend position on priority bills; discuss adopted and proposed amendments; and assess practical political realities, pressure points, opportunities, and next steps.
- Maintain real-time bill-status reports.
